Contextualization of Forest Governance for Implementation of REDD+ in Bangladesh

Poor governance accelerates the deforestation and forest degradation through corruption in Bangladesh due to enhancement of prevalent activities such as excessive collection forests products, trafficking logs out reserve forests, land grabs by powerful actors, illegal encroachment etc. The study was conducted with a view assessing present scenario system based on five UN principles which will be driving force successful implementation REDD+. Rangamati, Madhupur, Sreemangal, focus group discussion, key informants interview, an online survey. shows that lack transparency, accountability, integrity is one main underlying drivers degradation. Restriction accessing reports fiscal activities, laws regulation concerning public funds, independent institution, ineffective monitoring testing systems, inadequate detection, investigation, prosecution practices, enhance forestry sector hindrances effective REDD+ Bangladesh. suggested taking legal protection, engaging civil society improving organizational structures department check Bangladesh.
